Roy Fong, the most knowledgeable man in North America on Chinese and Taiwanese teas, led the initial 3-day portion of the recently held ATMA Tea Mastery Certification Course™ in San Diego, California. It was a sensational experience for all the registrants as Roy led the class in a magnificent presentation by providing a depth of knowledge and numerous tea tastings that exceeded expectations. Feedback from the registrants was overwhelmingly positive. Not only were the registrants awed by Roy’s knowledge and teaching skills, but the ATMA continues to attract individuals who are exceptional and they are highest caliber “tea people” in the truest sense of the word.
The ATMA Tea Mastery Certification Course™, which was fully booked, started on January 6th with the first part of the training, the 3-Day ATMA Comprehensive Tea Mastery Course™, held on-site at the Courtyard by Marriott. Over the next two days, Roy led the class in a thorough, intensive exploration of the many facets of tea, all while preparing, tasting, and evaluating one exquisite tea after another.
ATMA Certified Tea Master Chas Kroll and ATMA Certified Tea Master Alan Laszuk covered these training topics on the third day: History of Tea; Health Benefits of Tea; Starting or Expanding a Tea Business; Attracting and Retaining Customers; Effective Use of Social Media and Press Releases; Successful Web Site Concepts that Work; and Valuable Guest Service Skills. They concluded the 3-day onsite training by explaining what was involved in the 14-Week ATMA Tea Mastery Tasting Course™ starting the next week involving home study, tasting and evaluating 38 different teas, and periodic online group teleconference sessions to share experiences and ask questions.
Upon completion of Parts 1 and 2 of the training, registrants will be asked to taste and evaluate a mystery tea and take a final examination. Graduates successfully completing the training will be awarded an ATMA Certificate of Completion and an ATMA Certified Tea Master™ lapel pin for their accomplishment.
